Too much information?

Have you ever stumbled across a photo or photos that aren’t meant for your eyes….would you then scrutinise them for clues….trying to interpret the body language, any hidden meanings…checking out clothes, jewellery ……wondering how much it all costs. Wondering if those looks are genuine….trying to imagine what is going on in those heads, the thoughts…..

The internet is a never ending vat of information……sometimes good, sometimes not so good. It has it’s benefits…….but sometimes too much information isn’t such a good thing.

Have you ever stumbled across information that you wish you hadn’t?

Yes, but not on the internet. A long time ago I found out some information that I wished I had not known. It has taken me years to regain trust.

Oh yes – this sounds familiar. Although probably not quite in the same way. It’s so hard not to look isn’t it? Once you know it’s there, you can’t help yourself. The internet can be the source of a lot of pain.

Oh yes. And it has sometimes been when I’ve been looking for some information, hoping against hope not to find it.

I’m so sorry you’re having such a bad time. x

Yes although it wasn’t a photo. And it wasn’t on the internet. Someone I’d never met said “can I be honest” and told me something I wish, wish, wish, I’d never known. It’s changed my life and not for the better and I think is at the root of a lot of the misery I occasionally experience. The only people who know, and will ever know, about it are me, B (because I can’t keep secrets from him), the third party who it concerns and the person who told me.

Some things are so much better not known. And once known, impossible not to speculate upon.

I always feel for you, but on this one I know what you’re going through. xxx

Oh I’m really sorry Harriet, that’s terrible. You’re right sometimes it’s better not to know. X

Of course I have. And with the Internet it is far too easy to do. And yes, like you, I would scrutinize all of it and worry it to death.
